War-Heroic Battles Gift Box DVD (Bridge at Remagen/Devil's Brigade/633 Squadron
We have had several requests for copies of the DVD for the “The Devil's Brigade” with William Holden and Cliff Robertson, based on the book of the same title about the First Special Service Force.
This “War-Heroic Battles Gift Box DVD” includes three memorable war films for the price of one, including, “The Bridge at Remagen” with George Segal, Ben Gazzara, and Robert Vaughn. Also based on the military history of the same title, it tells the dramatic story of the seizing of the Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen in March 1945, the first bridge across the Rhine River captured by the Allies.
The third film is “633 Squadron” with Cliff Robertson, a World War II adventure film about a Royal Air Force fighter-bomber squadron assigned to destroy a Nazi rocket fuel facility in a Norwegian fjord. The story was inspired by the real-life exploits of RAF Mosquito squadrons that conducted such dangerous missions, hunting down Nazi ship convoys along Norway's rugged coastline. For airplane buffs, the real attraction of this film is abundant footage of authentic World War II-era De Havilland “Mosquito” bombers used for the movie production. The Mosquito was a fast, light, multi-role aircraft made of wood that carried a crew of two seated side by side. The scenes of these rare aircraft in flight is unique since there are no flyable examples left in the world today
